Justine is also a professional stage manager and stage director. She has worked in theaters all along the west coast, including Opera San Luis Obispo, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and Golden Gate Opera. Most recently she stage managed and assistant directed Carmen at the Performing Arts Center in San Luis Obispo.
Highlights include Bartok's Bluebeard's Castle and Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti for California Opera. She was interviewed with opera star Gabriel Manro about these beautiful and timely productions. Up next she will direct Behind Barbed Wire (January 2025) and The Wizard of Oz (May 2025) for Opera San Luis Obispo. After that, she will direct Tosca (June 2025) for Mission Opera in Los Angeles.
